anachronistic reporter discovers a unique magic act in the seedy underbelly of the city and becomes obsessed with learning the magician's secret. the original was not that great and this one is worse. the idea isn't bad but the execution is. this doesn't bode well for the suicide girls' foray into legit film. well, i guess it would be quite a stretch to call this legit film... 3.5/10
