i called in sick to give my back another day to forgive me for sneezing.

zodiac was great. my only significant gripe is that the ione sky scene should have been longer or at least described. that was a creepy scene in the book that was skimmed over in the film. maybe it was cut because ione can't act.

i love these lone wolf movies so far. the only thing i don't like are the titles. to date, i have accidentally rented #1 once and #2 twice before finally getting this one. i always get the 'lone wolf and cub' part right but i can't seem to get the rest of it. well, to my credit, one time was the video store guy's fault.

As I'm sure you know, that scene is the most important part of the book to me. It made me cover all of my windows up because I was afraid someone was outside looking at me. Then I woke up in the middle of the night holding a baseball bat that I didn't even know I owned. So that part of the movie was a bit of a let down for me because it wasn't scary at all. My only other gripe is the short scene at the end when the first living victim IDs the Zodiac in a Canadian airport. It feels tacked on. the movie should have just ended in the hardware store with Greysmith looking at his suspected Zodiac. One of these days, Fincher is going to make a perfect movie but I don't think he's done it yet even though I like everything he's directed. Including Alien 3.

you're right. i thought the same thing about the 'tacked on' part. but i understand that it was made for a general audience and general audiences need 'closure'. the only thing i didn't really like about alien3 was the shitty greenscreen effects.
