back to non-tongue-in-cheek frankenstein. no monster talking but a lot of awkward interaction btwn frankenstein and the police inspector. (lampooned in young frankenstein.) those interactions and lugosi's ygor were the highlights. more frankenstein next week.
election is a great, deliberately-paced mafia (triad) movie. it may get lumped in with hong kong action movies but there is really not that much action to speak of (by hong kong action movie standards anyway.) for some reason, there are no guns in the movie. all the violence is much more personal, making for some gut-wrenching scenes.
