a gangster's previously unknown mute son is dropped in his lap right when he's having trouble with his gang and needs to go on the lam. this is a grim one. of course, it is miike after all. but it's not like his more iconic ones. this is more of a gangster drama with family values at its core. the kid is left to fend for himself in the alley behind the brothel where the gangster stays before he takes the prostitute with him and they behave like a little family. it doesn't end well for them. 6.5/10
