it may be that i just enjoyed escaping into a fantasy world for a couple of hours, but i really liked this movie. i recommend seeing night watch within a very short period before seeing this though. i know i enjoyed the movie more knowing a bit more of the background of the story, but i would have enjoyed it even more having remembered even more from the first one. i really came out of this movie thinking that this is the russian star wars. not that it's a space sci-fi movie. no indeed. it's all fantasy/horror/adventure/special-effects-extravaganza. sure, some of it is over the top (car defying all laws of physics - particularly those that apply to gravity) but it was a hell of a lot of fun and great eye candy to boot.
i forgot to mention that there should be an academy award catagory for best subtitles, because this movie woule win hands down.
