Christopher: "on the ropes -Hoop Dreams style documentary about the rise and fall of three amatuer boxers in New York's Bed Stuy. Really nicely structured as if it were fiction. Kind of thought provoking, but how do we know she REALLY wasn't selling drugs. Recommended. See also The Legacy"
i haven't seen the legacy yet but this was good. i got pulled into these folks' lives and genuinely cared for an hour and a half. i don't really think it matters if she was selling or not. if she was, she needed to. if she wasn't, she got the shaft. either way her lawyer seemed extra shyster-y. (the epilogue brought a tear of joy to my eye. well, maybe it was a tear of good-for-them.)
