4 smarties study a killer organism from outer space in a super-secure, super-secret laboratory. this movie is way better than it needed to be. the book is smart and taught but it is a sci-fi story after all. the movie could have easily delved in to the cheesy or sensational. luckily, robert wise helmed it. there are plenty of shots that are surprisingly advanced for '71. 9/10
brides - wide-eyed french lass unleashes not dracula on the young women of the countryside and then gets help from van helsing himself. a decently creepy (though brightly lit) hammer horror pic. the effects are cheesy, the blood is fire engine red, and the teef are really fake but it's well acted and smartly paced. 7/10
