this is not a great documentary about an incredibly interesting subject: henry darger. i guess the doc covers the topic well but they seem to take a lot of liberties with darger's work. for example, nearly all of the shots of his paintings are animated. is his stuff really that uninteresting that they had to animate it? what kind of ADD producers put this thing out?
I actually kind of like the animation, even though I'd also like to see the artwork without any manipulation. The Dakota Fanning narration really was a creepily inspired casting choice.
